The River Avon

The River Avon

The Avon is the 19th longest river in the UK at 75 miles (121 km) although there are just 19 miles (31 km) as the crow flies between the source and its mouth in the Severn Estuary.

The navigable section of the River Avon on the trip extends from Pulteney Bridge to to Bathampton Mill passing Bath Boating Station, The Boatman Restaurant & Cleveland Pools.

An abundance of wildlife can be found on the River Avon, including kingfishers herons, mallards, moorhens and if you’re really lucky you may spot an otter.

You can do a one way trip to Bathampton as there is the Bathampton Mill or The Old Mill, where you can stop for lunch or a drink. If you wish to get off there you must buy a one way ticket & inform the drivers. If you wish to return by boat buy another one way ticket on the boat you board.
